Introduction

The industrial training is one of the requirements that must be fulfilled by every polytechnic student during the 4th semester of study. The students will be placed in the industries selected by the students themselves. It provides an opportunity for students to recognize the real working environment. The role of this industry training is very important because it can help students to gain technical skills and increase their knowledge as the students are only exposed to the theories before.

Private companies or government bodies must cooperate in making industrial training so that students can experience the real working world. The students also get to experience the situation of teamwork and mutual help. The duration for the students to undergo the industrial training is over five months or 20 weeks.

At the end of the industrial training, students are required to prepare a final report which concludes all the works that have been done by themeselves during the industrial training. The marks will be given by the organization and by the polytechnic. Once the assessment is done and if found unsatisfactory performance of the student, the student is required to repeat the training industry as prescribed by regulation. Overall, with the industry training, it really helped students in many things and producing quality graduates.


Objectives of Industrial Training
The industrial training is the goal of polytechnics to produce students who are successful and responsibility. To achieve that goal, the Unit Perhubungan dan Industrial Training (UPLI) has outlined a number of industrial training objectives to be achieved by each student while undergoing the training.

Among the objectives mentioned were as follows:
  • Build confidence and individual personality.
  • Helps students to communicate effectively.
  • Helps to instill teamwork and good relationships at work.
  • Disciplining yourself to comply with the rules while working.
  • Build a sense of responsibility in running a business.
  • Increase self-confidence to step into the real working world in the future.

Objectives of Industrial Training Report
At the end of the industrial training, every student is required to create or provide a full report and according to the standards set by the politechnic. It is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of industrial training undertaken by students during the industrial training period. 

Among the objectives of the report are:
  • Enable the polytechnics to assess students' achievement in industrial training.
  • Being one of the proofs that the student has completed industrial training.
  • Enable the lecturers to assess the knowledge acquired by students during industrial training.
  • Taking note of all the knowledges and experiences have gained during the training period.
  • Used as reference to students who is undergoing the industrial training.
  • Training students to produce quality reports.
  • A good report can help students in the future interview because it is a proof of work experience.
  • Testing capabilities and innovative thinking to produce the best report.

Importance of Industrial Training
The industrial training is important because it can expose students to the real working environment. It also can add and expand technical knowledge and skills of the student, after the students attend the industrial training, students can find out more than before. In addition, students can learn about some new technologies or skills.

In addition, the industrial training can also improves students' personal abilities even better as it can highlight the ability to work diligently and to work with dedication and show a positive attitude to the employer. Through the industrial training, the students are able to deal with problems more wisely.

The conclusion that can be defined on the importance of industrial training are:
