Comments & Suggestions

After undergoing the industrial training for 20 weeks, I began to sense the importance of industrial training should be given to every student. We, the students should not only be provided with theoretical knowledge only. This is because, the companies nowadays need a well-rounded student, and not only knows how to do one job only.

While I was having my industrial training, I was exposed to a variety of tasks. Most of the tasks assigned to me sometimes were quite challenging and many new things that I have never been studied before. So, it takes quite a while to understand and complete the assigned task.

In conclusion, the exposure during industrial training is very useful for the future. Although many new things were introduced and took quite a while to understand, we need to know that this is one of the ways of learning. The industrial training must be practiced at all institutions because it can provide invaluable knowledge to the students.

Among my suggestions are:

  1. Before undergoing industrial training, polytechnics should ensure that the students have chosen an appropriate venue. The polytechnics should have confirmed prior to the firm to ensure that the work offered to students is in accordance with the course taken at the Polytechnic.
  2. Supervisors are responsible to monitor the activities of students so that their work can be completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the criteria required.
  3. Students should be given a course to master them in everyday conversation. The firm or company that takes the students have to prepare a special table for them to be able to do the job better, faster and efficient. The companies should train the students as their own employees.
  4. The companies must also provide the necessary equipment while they are there to facilitate the work properly.
  5. Safety regulations must also be held or tightened to prevent any unwanted accidents occur.
  6. Lecturers should always keep in touch with the students.

The suggestions above might be little difficult to implement, but it will make our Polytechnic even better in the future. The UPLI is also no longer need to think about the problems that are happening now. For example, students absent to work, change the industrial training location on their own without the permission of the Polytechnic. So, I hope that the both of the students and the Polytechnic will consider the recommendations that I mentioned  in the above.
